In the past couple of days I signed up on a web site where I’ll get one free credit score check (not credit report, actual credit score) per month, a $10 gift card for Amazon.com, and a free data recovery software application worth $90.

The free credit score check, which does an inquiry that does not affect your credit, is pretty cool, but it doesn’t give the exact number. It gives numbers that your credit score falls between. For example: 760+, 720 – 759, 680 – 719, etc… I get my exact credit score once a quarter through my credit union, so I actually find that more useful.

The $10 gift card from Amazon will actually be cool because I purchase from Amazon quite regularly. The data recovery software is cool, but it’s not something that I would have bought so I don’t consider that a savings, really.

I still haven’t signed up for the new checking account at Chase for a free flight and free money, but I plan to do that this upcoming week, so I’ll keep you posted.
